Terms of Service

Last updated: 4 September 2025

1. Who we are

Cheera (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Tecnov8 Ltd trading as Cheera with registered company number 12340648. You can contact us at hello@cheera.app.

These Terms govern your use of the Cheera website and service (the “Service”), accessible at cheera.app. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

2. What Cheera is

Cheera lets you create shared “boards” for celebrations and occasions — birthdays, weddings, farewells, and similar — where invited members can post photos, videos, and messages, react to posts, comment, and tag one another.

3. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Cheera account. If you are under 18, you may only use Cheera with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian who holds the account on your behalf.

Board content may include photos or mentions of minors (for example, family photos posted by a parent or relative). By posting such content, you confirm you have the right and appropriate consent to do so.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you post to Cheera — your photos, videos, and messages (“Your Content”). By posting Your Content, you grant Cheera a limited licence to host, store, display, and process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and the other members of the relevant board (including generating PDF or video exports you request).

We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use it for advertising.

You're responsible for Your Content. You agree not to post anything that:

  • is illegal, harassing, defamatory, or infringes someone else's rights (including copyright or privacy rights);
  • you don't have the right to share (e.g. someone else's copyrighted photo without permission);
  • impersonates another person or entity.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these Terms.

5. Boards, invites, and privacy

Boards are private by default. Only people with a board's invite link can join. Board creators can revoke an invite link at any time, which prevents new people from joining via that link (it does not remove people who already joined).

Board creators can moderate their own board — removing posts, comments, or members.

6. Payments, purchases, and refunds

Cheera's free tier is free, always, with no payment required. We also offer optional one-time purchases (prices as shown on the site at the time of purchase and subject to change):

  • PDF keepsake export — a downloadable PDF of a board's content.
  • Board upgrade — a one-time purchase that raises a board's limits and includes a PDF export.
  • Premium keepsake export — a PDF plus a compiled video of a board's content.

These are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. There is no recurring billing.

Digital content and your right to cancel. Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel an online purchase. Because our paid features (exports, board upgrades) are digital content delivered to you immediately after payment, by completing a purchase you expressly consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once delivery has begun. This will be confirmed with a checkbox at checkout before you pay.

Refunds. Because of the above, purchases are generally non-refundable once delivered. If something goes wrong on our end (for example, a payment is taken but the export fails to generate), contact us at hello@cheera.app and we'll make it right.

7. Free tier limits

The free tier includes: up to 5 active (non-archived) boards per account, up to 50 posts per board, and up to 5 images or one 60-second video per post. Boards that reach 3 months of age are archived — the board and its content remain viewable, but the board moves out of your active-board count. Archiving is not deletion.

We may adjust these limits from time to time; we'll do our best to give notice of any significant reduction in what's included for free.

8. Account termination

You can stop using Cheera and ask us to delete your account at any time by contacting hello@cheera.app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including for posting prohibited content or attempting to abuse the Service (for example, mass-creating boards to circumvent free-tier limits).

9. Intellectual property

The Cheera name, logo, and the Service itself (excluding Your Content) belong to us. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or reuse our branding or software without permission.

10. Third-party services

Cheera uses trusted third parties to operate the Service, including Stripe for payment processing and Google Firebase for data storage and authentication. Your use of Cheera is also subject to their applicable terms where relevant.

11. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is.” We work to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before a claim arises.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for things that can't legally be limited, such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know (for example, by email or an in-app notice).

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
