This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (like browser local storage) that Cheera uses, and why.

These keep the Service working and don't require your consent under UK law (PECR), but we're disclosing them for transparency:

Sign-in / session: Cheera uses Firebase Authentication to keep you signed in. This is primarily handled through your browser's local storage rather than a traditional cookie, but serves the same purpose — without it, you'd need to sign in again on every page.

Cookie consent preference: We store your cookie consent choice (“essential only” or “accept all”) in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again on every visit.

When you make a purchase, you're redirected to Stripe's own checkout page (on Stripe's domain, not ours). Stripe sets its own cookies there to process your payment securely. These are governed by Stripe's own cookie policy, not this one.

Cheera uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages are most popular and how people find us. These cookies are only set after you click “Accept all” in the cookie banner.

Cookies set:

• _ga — distinguishes unique visitors (expires after 2 years)
• _ga_* — maintains session state (expires after 2 years)

Data collected: pages viewed, approximate location (country/city derived from your IP address), browser and device type, and referral source. Google Analytics does not collect your name, email, or the content of your posts.

How to opt out: click “Essential only” in the cookie banner, clear your cookies through your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cheera does not use advertising or marketing cookies. We don't show ads, and we don't share your data with advertisers.

You can clear cookies and site data for cheera.app at any time through your browser's settings. Note that clearing sign-in data will sign you out and you'll need to sign in again via a new magic link.

If what we use changes — for example, if we add analytics — we'll update this policy and this page's “last updated” date.
